The marketing technology landscape is complicated. The key to digital brand success is knowing WHAT to buy, WHEN to buy it, and HOW a technology best fits into your marketing strategy. The fine folks at Chiefmartec.com have just finished off with their MarTech conference in San Francisco. Here are the results of their contest “57 marketing stacks and 21 essays from the 2017 Stackies & Hackies.” We thought we’d share because it’s awesome.
What is a marketing technology stack?
A marketing technology stack is a set of software subsystems or components needed to create a complete platform that allows marketers to analyze, manage, execute and improve their tactics.
“We don’t have a marketing technology stack,” said the business. “Yes, you do,” replied CMO4Hire.
Every business is a technology business nowadays. Even if you use Excel to manage your mailing lists (stop doing that), there is technology involved. A stack is its individual components as well as the integration and flow of data between the components.
57 marketing technology stacks for your perusal
First, the fact that the marketing community is opening their kimono’s and sharing their technology approaches is outstanding. It’s a complicated world out there. We’re all in this together. It’s great to examine these marketing stacks and see how they might apply to clients we’re helping.
Second, there’s is a tremendous amount of careful thought that has gone into these one-pagers. Both in putting together these technology solutions as well as so colourfully and specifically describing it.
Mucho thanks and kudos to everyone involved!
The ones that I like the best describe the marketing technology stack around the customer journey. This following is from Cisco (one of the 6 winners of the 57 entries). Its customer journey is organized around “I renew,” “I install & I use,” “I shop & I buy,” and “I’m aware.”
And, there’s lots more goodness to enjoy. The full blog post appears here: http://chiefmartec.com/2017/05/57-marketing-stacks-21-essays-shared-2017-stackies-hackies/
